What is an MOT test?
An MOT is a yearly test which is legally required on all vehicles over the age of three. It’s carried out by our mechanics which ensures that your vehicle is safe to drive on the road. We will thoroughly inspect your vehicle against the strict guidelines set by the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). At the end of the test, you’ll receive either a pass certificate or a failure document. Don’t worry if you fail though, as our mechanics will be able to conduct the necessary repairs before a re-test.
What’s checked during an MOT?
There are many different things that need to be inspected during an MOT. Some of which include:
- Lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment
- Steering and suspension
- Brakes
- Tyres and wheels
- Seat belts and restraint systems
- Body structure and general items (eg registration plate)
